Psychiatric Nurse, Per Diem

The Psychiatric Nurse is responsible for providing high quality nursing care to patients with psychiatric or psychological problems consistent with Agency philosophy, Agency policy and Standards of Nursing Practice.
Requirements include current registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State and a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a state approved diploma program or an Associate’s degree with at least 1 year experience as a full-time staff nurse in a medical-surgical nursing area. A Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing is preferred. Additional requirements include a minimum of 2 years experience as a member of a nursing staff in active treatment unit of a psychiatric hospital or outpatient mental health clinic/hospital. Bilingual skills and valid driver’s license may be required, as determined by operational needs.
