Latinos Get No Health Information from Medical Professionals

According to a new report released by the Pew Hispanic Center, more than one in four Hispanic adults in the United States lack a usual health care provider and a similar proportion report obtaining no health care information from medical professionals in the past year. At the same time, the report finds that more than eight in 10 receive health information from alternative sources, such as television and radio. HIV on the rise among Hispanics

A new report by the Kaiser family foundation, "The Crisis of HIV/AIDS Among Latinos/Hispanics in United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands," released in advance of the XVII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, says that Hispanics are the second most affected community of people living with HIV in the U.S.

Study Shows Immigrant Kids Get Less Exercise Than U.S. Born

According to the Associated Press, a new study showed immigrant children of all backgrounds get even less vigorous exercise than their U.S.-born counterparts. Plenty of earlier evidence shows that U.S. children are pretty inactive. Almost 18 percent of foreign-born children with immigrant parents got no vigorous exercise on any days of the week, and 56 percent didn't participate in organized sports.
