Just kicking back a couple weeks ago with my little kids in the library, I ran across a book by a guy named Michael Santos -- "Inside. Life behind Bars in America". What a gripping account of what it's like to be in prison. Santos was convicted in 1987 of being the leader of a drug ring that sold cocaine. He was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for which he served a mandatory 25 years before getting out just last August on good behavior. He makes no excuses for why he was convicted…

This week I worked 60 hours, easy. I didn't even have time for lunch most of the week. Well, that's not true; it's just that I ate my lunch at my desk in my office while I was shuffling papers and trying to get discovery out to opposing counsel, among a plethora of other duties that I had on my plate, no pun intended.
