About the Program

MEXICAN AMERICAN OPPORTUNITY FOUNDATION (MAOF) and LISTOAMERICA, INC.
COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY CENTER

The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), a 501 c (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization and ListoAmerica, Inc., a 501c (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, have formed a strategic partnership in the form a Joint Venture to develop and execute after-school programs at the new Community Technology Center located at the Plaza La Alameda (Florence Ave at Alameda) in the Greater Southeast Los Angeles area near Huntington Park, California. MAOF is a well established community-based organization which has over a 45 year history of providing pre-school educational and human services throughout California and ListoAmerica is a new, corporate-bred organization which was founded on the premise that Latinos/Latinas can be a significant source of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) future employees in our country’s 21st Century workforce to help solve one of the most pressing issues facing the United States-- the critical shortage of STEM-based skilled employees in the future demographics of our country. MAOF and ListoAmerica are committed to utilize their unique skills/strengths which are complementary to advance the strategic objectives of the Joint Venture. The Community Technology Center is being established to provide after-school education and tutoring assistance to middle school and high school students. The mission of the Community Technology Center is to EDUCATE, INFORM AND INSPIRE OUR YOUTH TO EXCEL IN STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Initially, the Community Technology Center will target student from Gage, Nimitz and South Gate Middle-schools.

Come join us in supporting two great organizations while helping deliver the STEM Program for inner city Youth.
