Profile Information

about me
Born in New York City, Elizabeth Lourdes Hernández was raised and educated through high school in San Juan, Puerto Rico before moving to Tucson where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and later completed courses towards a Masters degree in Art History. Ms. Hernández has been actively involved as an art broker, art consultant, independent curator and gallery owner with contemporary galleries in Tucson and more recently in Scottsdale.

She is a highly creative, organized, and persevering entrepreneur. Her training and skills include marketing, project and event planning, public relations, exhibit installation, email marketing, web site development, media campaigns and sales.

As a bilingual, bicultural professional, who has lived, worked and volunteered in Arizona for over twenty-five years, Ms. Hernández also served on several community and professional boards including The Foundation for Creative Broadcasting, Girls Scouts of America, Tucson Museum of Art and Tucson Pima Arts Council. In Phoenix, she served on the board of the Scottsdale Gallery Association, and is an ASID Industry Partner, a member of Phoenix Art Museum’s Contemporary Forum, and currently serves as President of the Latin American Art Alliance.

Ask anyone who has had dealings with Ms. Hernández, and you will receive a positive response and an affirmation of her “win-win” mentality.
what is your current, past or ideal job title?
In the last five years, I owned and operated two galleries: Liz Hernández Gallery, Tucson, AZ and Hernández Contemporary Fine Art, Scottsdale, AZ. My goals to promote an understanding of contemporary artistic expression and to create a premier art venue showcasing representational and abstract work by prominent mid-career artists have been accomplished quite successfully.

Due to the recent economic downturn, the art market - in Arizona and in major venues around the country - suffered dramatically, and I decided to close my retail gallery location. Right now, I am interested in using my broad experience and skill set in the areas of public relations, marketing and sales development, preferably for Latino consumers and community audiences.
