I've been keeping busy writing my books, but I found time to get into some real trouble with an online Speed Spanish course. I thought I could learn a little and have some fun. I thought it would be a piece of cake. Well, it was--yellowcake (nuclear waste). This instructor was serious! Somehow, when I read Speed Spanish, my brain translated it to Party Spanish. Not!

What to do? What to do? Well, I did get through the course, and pulled an A+, but my brain deletes languages fifteen minutes after the final test, I discovered. So, I still know Nothing! But the course is very good. I'm telling everyone how good it is. The problem is me. I really stink at languages. Who knew?
Meanwhile, I'm not giving up. I have complete course notes with handmade flash cards. This winter, when I get rained in and can't get out of my house without a snorkel, I'll pull the notebook out and take another stab at it. And another. And another, until I get it. My family may have to bury me with the darn thing...

Hope you're having a great summer.Remember my summer mantra: If the bottom of your canoe is dry, you're doing something wrong...

HA HA HA good one Janelle. I never knew speed Spanish existed. It took me years (and I am still learning) to become advanced in speaking, reading and writing the language. Then, the dudes at work started teaching me all the slang. Talk about brain bashed. I feel your pain.
