More business decisions occur over lunch and dinner than at any other time, yet no MBA courses are given on the subject. ~Peter Drucker

I have seen the city skyline of NYC, Charlotte, and Atlanta in the past few days. It was an exhausting process but I had a lot going through my mind. One thing on my mind is the quote above and why it is so important to me and why it should be important to you.

I have exchanged a lot of business cards and shook a lot of hands. What I found was that the quote above is on point absolutely right. I have made more business decisions that have impacted my life in a more social setting than in board rooms. So, my question is why was I never taught this in business school or any school throughout my life. Not sure but what I am sure of is networking is what makes the world tick. There is clearly a distinct line that is drawn that separates the successful and the non-successful. I think if you talk to anyone of influence in any industry they will tell you they did not get there by themselves they were connected with someone that helped them climb.

I love to use this analogy when discussing networking because I am admittingly a computer geek. We are experiencing exponetial growth in the technology sector and at a faster speed than ever before. The reason why is when computer's were first introduced to the world they were extremely independent. A computer by itself is not a groundbreaking technology and really is not that powerful. When you connect multiple computers that single computer becomes much more powerful. Then you have the internet which not only connects computers it connects humans. So, the point that should be derived from this analogy is that when computers and humans were connected by the internet technology has turned up the speed in technological advancement. Humans should be considered the same way when acting independantly the human's are not that powerful. So, if you are looking to build exponetial growth in your personal and professional life you NEED to network. People and the power of numbers is what will impact your life. So, go out network be social and meet as many people as you can because that is going to put you in a position to have options in life. We live in a world filled with uncertainty but one thing for certain if you network effectively you will always be prepared for any weather condition.

Below is a video on how computer's impact humans. How I would like you to analyze this video is in the context of how helping and using other human being's to propel you into a successful personal/Professional life. Networking is your bicycle, so ride fast and let the wind blow through your hair. : ) Keep Moving, Steve
