Starting on Nov. 7, Election Day 2006, Latina media entrepreneur Cathy Areu will be joining the Oxygen Network as it’s new headline news “vlogger,” hosting a daily video blog on the woman’s network’s web site
www.oxygen.com. Described as a “younger and female Andy Rooney”, Cathy Areu will be ranting about daily news stories which affect the average woman, Latina, Latino, dog, cat, child and U.S. citizen from coast to coast.
Cathy is no stranger to the news. Since 2000, she’s been covering members of the Bush Administration and other political movers and shakers as a contributing editor for the Washington Post Magazine. She’s also the owner of CATALINA, a multi-media company which caters to today’s U.S. Hispanic woman.
“I hope my fellow Latinas and Latinos join me at Oxygen to discuss, and rant, about the stories which touch our lives every day,” Cathy tells NSHP. “I think it’s important that we show D.C. that we’re watching them. We’re watching them closely!” Cathy’s video blog will invite viewers to participate by commenting on Cathy’s opinions, observations, and frustrations. For more information, visit
