Hispanic professional society & diversity job fairs at NSHP.org

Each summer, internship and fellowship programs at CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc. (located in Richland, Washington) provide professional development for business, science and engineering students as well as graduate students and faculty members. These development opportunities at CH2M HILL Hanford Group enhance the education of the students and also promote collaboration among the academic, industrial, and government communities.

Interested candidates must register at www.awu.org. For further information on the CH2M HILL Internship Program, contact Judie Winters via email at Judie_A_Winters@rl.gov.

The primary goal for the CH2M HILL program is to foster quality educational experiences for the student interns under the direction of mentors and advisors. These advisors and mentors play a critical role in reaching this goal through their day-to-day interactions with the students. The mentors and advisors are charged with providing students with meaningful work. An internship should provide development opportunities for the students as well as help CH2M HILL accomplish work and meet milestones.

At CH2M HILL, we're looking for people eager to meet the challenges we face in cleaning up the Hanford site. Those who work hard and can apply the knowledge they have to solve real work problems are who we're looking for at CH2M HILL! Being the best requires more than just classroom learning.

CH2M HILL continues to offer "real work" opportunities for students. We provide a setting that enables today's students to gain valuable experience in their chosen field and develop into the best technical and professional talent of tomorrow. CH2M HILL will benefit from the students' "cutting-edge" knowledge and fresh ideas.

Challenging work experiences are provided for students who are willing to work hard and are eager to learn.

All interns assigned to CH2M HILL must:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a U.S. citizen.
Have completed at least two quarters/semesters of college education prior to the internship.
Have maintained an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during their college experience.
Adhere to the CH2M HILL Standards of Conduct for the duration of the internship.
CH2M HILL offers two types of internships:

Academic Year Internships
Academic Year Internships may be available throughout the academic year. The intern must be able to work part-time (20 hours) during the internship assignment.

Summer Internships
Summer Internships are generally a 10-12 week work experience available during summer breaks. The intern must be able to work full-time (40 hours) during the internship assignment.

CH2M HILL Hanford is the Department of Energy Office of River Protection prime contractor with the responsibility for storing and retrieving for treatment approximately 54 million gallons of highly radioactive and hazardous waste stored in 177 underground tanks. CH2M HILL's role includes characterizing the waste and delivering it to the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) to vitrify the waste into a glasslike substance for permanent disposal. CH2M HILL will continue to be responsible for storage of the treated waste until permanent disposal facilities are available.

Project Hanford is located in southeastern Washington State along the scenic Columbia River. The largest of our communities is known as the Tri-Cities and consists of the cities of Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco. Three rivers and nearby mountain ranges provide unlimited sporting and recreational opportunities. There are more than 100 parks, nine golf courses, and over 32 miles of paved bike/hike paths in the area. It's an easy place to live and a challenging place to work.

CH2M HILL is an equal employment opportunity employer. Maintaining a workforce that represents cultural diversity is a core strategic objective at CH2M HILL. A diverse workforce makes us stronger, healthier, and better able to handle the challenges of the future. CH2M HILL fosters a work environment where employees recognize, appreciate, respect, and value winning contributions of all people, regardless of their differences.
