The Energy Manager is organizationally accountable to develop and manage protocols for Business-wide energy conservation and optimization with an emphasis on continuous improvements in equipment, energy technologies, building management and operational behavior including waste removal and recycling programs. The Energy Manager will also be responsible for the measurement and verification information to support continuous improvements in energy management and conservation.
# Defines the requirements for utilities procurement and operation of energy resources, and provides specialized
engineering and technical services for the business, including planning and implementing of utility infrastructure projects.
# Assists with the development of and implements engineering and utility management plans.
# Supports the planning and construction of capital projects and utility infrastructure projects.
# In partnership with the Sustainability Manager develop recommendations regarding conservation technologies,
renewable energy and sustainable systems.
# Monitors and analyzes energy consumption and costs and performs building energy audits to identify potential energy
# Supports negotiation of purchasing agreements with energy supplies and assists with the development and
implementation of energy purchasing strategy.
# Assists with the preparation of utility budgets by formulating utility use projections.
# Monitors regulatory policy through direct interface with utilities representative and/or subsidiary.
# Bachelors degree Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Management, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline;
# 7-9 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing design systems
# LEED AP, CEM or equivalent strongly preferred, Professional Engineers license preferred.
# Extensive experience with performing assessments of commercial, industrial and/or institutional buildings
# Experience with utility procurement contracts including terms and conditions
# Solid project management experience
# Ability to generate energy audit reports and communicate in written and verbal manner.
# Experience in analysis of water use and waste streams
# Knowledge of HVAC, lighting systems and mechanical systems design and operation
# Experience recommending and quantifying energy conservation technologies and practices, including life cycle cost analysis
# Meter installation experience desired
# Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products
# Ability to read, interpret and sketch architectural based electrical and basic building drawings
# Excellent self-leadership, interpersonal communication skills, and cultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and
tactfully interact with individuals at all levels of the company
# Travel up to 30%
