Seven things that truly matter - a reflection on 2011

This will be my last post of 2011 and I want to keep it short, sweet, and on point, so there will only be the top seven. North Korea - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

The North Korean Dictator Kim Jong IL is dead. Decades of ruling with an iron fist has left his small country economically destitute, illiterate, and paranoid. The cult of personality that he has fostered was successful in that while his people are starving, they are seen as crying and wailing over his death.

Allowing non-Citizens to vote in Maryland? The Privilege of Voting should not be diminished.

The Mayor of New Haven, Maryland has a very unique idea: give the right to vote in municipal elections to non-citizens. John DeStefano (D) has asked the state to allow this to happen. The idea is to allow Permanent Residents, who are not Citizens to vote. This includes the undocumented. He is not alone. Maryland already allows for 6 other cities to do this.
