Mr. Rony Delgarde is from Haiti. He came to the U.S. with only five dollars and a holy Bible in his pocket. In 2010 Delgarde was struck by the number of unpainted schools, orphanages, churches, and homes he saw on a visit to Uganda and Kenya. When, he returned, he quickly realized the impact a little layer of paint on the walls would have on uplifting the spirit of the people, and reducing bad Germs, Viruses, Mold, and Bacteria in poor countries. He founded a non-profit organization, Global Paint for Charity, to collect discarded paint for free of charge and, instead of tossing it back into landfills, consolidate it and distribute it to vulnerable families across the globe. So far, Delgarde has collected paint of all major top brands from Ralph Laurent, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr, Glidden to Valspar from residents and businesses from coast to coast. He has salvaged 80,000 gallons of paint for projects in 8 countries. He has distributed paints to renovate orphanages for children who lost their parent to HIV/AIDS in Africa, and sent 4,400 gallons of Latex paint valued at $32,000 to Central America. Mr. Delgarde hopes to soon collect and ship 20,000 gallons to support reconstruction and development projects for earthquake victims in Haiti.
It costs nearly $9,000 to send a sea container of Latex paint to most major sea ports in developing countries. In addition, he is raising money for a larger warehouse and a new machine to process large quantities of donated paint. The good news is Students from Georgia Tech have partnered with Global Paint to design a machine that can process the paint. But he needs to raise the $95,000 it will cost to build the machine.$1 will help send more paint to vulnerable families in developing countries.

The Global Paint for Charity is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Georgia. Its mission is to collect leftover architectural paint from residents and businesses nationwide for use in global housing rehabilitation projects, including homes, schools, hospitals, orphanages and churches for vulnerable families in developing countries. GPC's work is grouped into four categories: (1) collection of paint donations, (2) transportation and storage of paint donations, (3) consolidation and repackaging, and (5) distribution. It sounds so simple but the benefits are so amazing:
• Protect the Environment and Stop Deforestation
• Save Tax-Payers with their expenses of Paint Disposal
• Improve Access to Quality Paints in Developing Countries
• Transform Communities, Change Lives and Change the World.
