You are not going to become rich by working for the state, but it is a secure position with great benefits and you can earn some money while you find something else. For some positions, you are required to be a state employee (if you were, you would either transfer or take a promotion test). The NYS Dept of Labor is hiring to fill a position as an Unemployment Insurance Referee (salary range $68,865 to $84,174.) You should contact Alejandra Stein (518) 457-1220.
