I haven't read Wings, but I recently read The Last Exit to Normal by Michael Harmon. It's a YA book about having homosexual parents. It was really good. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I was expecting a high cringe factor because of the subject, but it was a joy and the parents were wonderfulfully portrayed. I read everything, Yesinia. And I've even written a YA book, a black comedy about my Hispanic childhood called As Brown As I Want: The Indianhead Diaries. I don't read diet books as I've lost 30 pounds due to medical issues and am trying to put some weight on!

It's Friday! Woo-hoo! (How do you say THAT in Spanish?)

Hi, Yesinia. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. It was a rough Easter--it has been raining for days and the adults sat around a big table of snacks and ate. And ate. And ate. THEN we had Easter dinner!

My original thought for the Spanish was to exchange short emails. Maybe a short sentence at a time.I don't want to take up a lot of your time. There would be no hurry or pressure. Do you have a better idea?

About reading: I am so buried in American Indian books right now because I'm writing a one-man show for a Hollywood actor. I am having such a good time! Unfortunately, you or Michelle wouldn't be interested in these books, I'm afraid. But if you ever need to know how to dry pumpkins, I'm your girl!

I read from a mixed genre pile too. I felt so cutting edge when I heard they're making a movie out of The Help. I'm usually way behind the trends.

I also read a lot of marketing books, history, art, and my friends' books (a lot of my friends write!)

I have to go now because I have company but I DO still need help with my Spanish...more on that later!!!

Happy Easter! Janelle

Yesinia! Nice to meet you! Welcome to our reading group. Michelle and i have been lonely.  I forget to check because nothing has been going on. I think I may have the wrong button clicked because I don't get notification anymore when a message is posted.

Have you read The Help? It's really good. It's by Kathryn Stockett.

Let us know what kinds of books you like.

Don't be a stranger! Janelle
