Washington River Protection Soultions, WRPS, is the Department of Energy Office of River Protection prime contractor responsible for storing and retrieving for treatment approximately 53 million gallons of highly radioactive and hazardous waste stored 177 underground tanks at the Hanford Site in Washington State. WRPS' role includes characterizing the waste and delivering it to a treatment plant for vitrification into a glass-like substance for permanent disposal.
Located along the scenic Columbia River, Hanford is near the Tri-Cities, consisting of Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco. Three rivers and nearby mountain ranges provide unlimited sporting and recreational opportunities, and we're near the "Heart of Washington's Wine Country." There are more than 100 parks, nine golf courses, and over 32 miles of paved bike/hike paths in the area. It's an easy place to live and a challenging place to work.
