I first traveled to Guatemala for a summer service trip after my sophomore year in college. We spent one month in Guatemala where we studied in Antigua and helped build three new classrooms for a local primary school in nearby Chimaltenango. After that experience, I was hooked. I graduated from college in May of 2007, and in June I began working fro Cooperative for Education (CoEd). CoEd is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Guatemala through education.
