I am a native Texan, born in El Paso and moved to various cities in the US and then to Mexico City in 1968 where I lived for two years. My family lives in Austin, TX where they have been since the 1980s. I moved to the DC metro area in 2003 for a job at the Dept. of Homeland Security and have been here since but do visit TX at least once a year. I am looking to network with other Hispanics especially those of you from Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona and the rest of the southwest and to make contacts in the Hispanic IT community. I'm have been working in information technology for the last 17 years. My mother is a Mexican native from Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, and my father is American born but my late paternal grandmother was from Torreon, Neuvo Leon who emigrated to the US during the time of the Mexican Revolution.
I enjoy cultural activities at the Mexican Cultural Institute of Washington DC, Italian Cultural Institute, and the Alliance Francais of Washington DC. I would like to meet other Hispanics for networking, making new friends, and to share cultural experiences, job opportunities, and to find out about ways to get involved in the Hispanic community philanthropic activities.
