Profile Information

about me
29 years young software professional. I've been working in IT Software Development for 5+ years. I have encountered absolutely 0% Latino representation in my chosen field since I've started working. It would be REALLY nice to network with other Latino's in my field (do they exist?) to build professional leads that will eventually lead to new and interesting opportunities. I would also like to collaborate with other Latinos on here to somehow help increase the technical/software awareness of the Latino community. We need more representation in this field. It's lonely out here!
what is your current, past or ideal job title?
Systems Integration Analyst, Analyst, Software Developer
what languages do you speak?
Spanish, English
what countries have you lived in?
U.S.
what countries have you visited?

what's your Hispanic connection?
Both parent's born in Mexico (Michoacan & Queretaro). They immigrated to the U.S. in the early 70's and raised 3 kids (i'm one of 3). My family has been very atypical, as I have not lived a normal Latino childhood (mostly due to family issues and my parents' new religion). Ever since college I have longed to find my Latino identity that I was denied as a child. I now strive to immerse myself into the culture and love every aspect of it (value of education can be increased though).

My uncle, Dr. Manuel Vizcaya (General Surgeon). Though it was almost impossible for a child of the working poor (back in the 70's) to attain a college education in Mexico, his sacrifices and determination have reaped him success and my family hope that even the unprivelged are privileged with the same capability to succeed as any other.
