Profile Information

about me
I am currently working as Manager, Client Services for Ogletree Deakins, a national employment law firm With offices throughout the country. I provide clients with training in workplace violence, sexual harassment, diversity, and professionalism. I also assist clients in working with individuals that might be threatening other employees and/or the safety of the workplace. In the event of an accident or any traumatic event I will provide or arrange for a critical incident response.

I received my PhD in clinical psychology. I specialized in working with law enforcement and public safety. I provided counseling and psychological services for law enforcement personnel and their families. I responded to critical incidents and provided critical incident stress debriefings. In addition to that, I provided diversity training for law enforcement on the national scale.

I trained law enforcement agencies, hospital personnel, emergency service providers, and school personnel on how to work with victims of trauma. I did this in conjunction with the US Department of Justice and the National Organization for Victim Assistance.

I am an adjunct faculty member at Webster University where I teach students who are working on their master's degree in counseling and behavioral health.

Prior to becoming a clinical psychologist I worked for the San Diego Unified School District. I started off as a teacher and then I became an outdoor education teacher. I taught students how to follow animal tracks and use a compass with a topo map. In addition to that, I taught students pond biology and the culture of the native indigenous peoples. I was a member of the school districts Race/Human Relations Team. We provided school district employees, parents, and students with training in the area of race and human relations. We provided extensive diversity training and I was instrumental in developing a developmental and sequential model for the training of diversity.

A personal note, I enjoy getting to know people and traveling. One of my favorite pastimes is to have a good red wine and a good discussion.
