Sorry never responded, but I was downsized in November 2008, it was expected, and have been searching for work since then; Currently am using LinkedIn to network with every recruiter I meet at career fairs, where I feel I made a good impression, and sold my elevator spiel of my brand identity; So that the future position comes, they will remember me!
Hope you found something, if you are still looking for Computer system engineering work, I believe jobs related to Java, Cisco, and Oracle, is very rewarding after several years, you can be making greater than 100K.
