Dan Karjala is a Human Resources (Talent Management, Leadership & Organizational Development) senior professional with a passion for client satisfaction and value-add for practical and understandable solutions.

Dan brings excellent experience in Human Resources Talent Management, Organizational Development and Effectiveness, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Project and Change Management. He has worked as a senior manager for a major NGO (World Vision International), as well as international corporations such as Royal Dutch Shell with P&L responsibility, BHP Billiton, Citigroup, Intergraph, AT&T and Kodak for over 22 years. Currently, Dan is a free lance contractor and owner of EDK Consulting, Inc., a Human Resources / Talent Management, Leadership & Organizational Development consulting solutions enterprise focused on the following:

Leadership Development - Assessing, designing, and implementing for present and future business strategy realization. This area includes best practices in Succession Planning.
Competency Development - Creating thorough and customized competencies to enable a business to purposefully and consciously pursue and develop top or best matched talent to the needs of the business)
Project Management - Assess and advice on projects to enable a business to better deliver on assignments with the right resources, budget, time and communications).
Organization Development and Change - Assess organizational processes and behavior and deliver best solutions to better address gaps that hinder progress and create various costs. Assess organizational strengths and opportunity gaps. Design and develop gap closure with solutions to immediately and positively impact your business. Deliver training (in-class group or one-on-one, online, or train-the-trainer), process improvement and/or coaching. Evaluate results over a period of time (after one month to over 18 months) to ensure proper and positive impact.
Team Development (Assess current team(s), develop a plan to strengthen and align team(s) with the business goals and strategy, deliver program(s) to enable cohesive and stronger teamwork)

Dan has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and has completed graduate work and professional certificates from Ottawa University and Rice University.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dan has lived in Venezuela and Germany. He has worked in Venezuela, Israel, Brazil, Panama, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Holland, France, Germany, England, Thailand, Singapore, The Philippines, Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mexico. He speaks fluent English and Spanish as well as conversational French, Portuguese, and Italian – and a bit of German.

Dan currently resides in Simi Valley, California, with his wife Missy. Missy and Dan have two daughters, Maria and Rebekah, and are also blessed with two grand children, Brendan and Keira.
