Ms. Colon is the former Recording Secretary for U.T.B. United Third Bridge, Inc., a civil rights organization in the areas of culture and education; and former Recording Secretary for UTB United Third Bridge, Inc., Royal Order of Don Juan Ponce de Leon Historical V Centennial Celebration Committee and serve as a Board of Director for the Florida State Puerto Rican / Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
In a personal deep commitment to community development in January 2011, Ms. Colon has opened up a nonprofit organization which serves the need of a greater spectrum of people providing free to low cost services for all eligible urban and inner-city residents in the areas of educational scholarships, leadership workshops, hiphop culture/education classes and youth health education programs which provide education and employment for inner-city youth.
Ms. Colon is also completed serving her third term as Chairwoman of Florida Puerto Rican/Hispanic and Minority Empowerment Committee. Ms. Colon has successfully taken the position of Chairperson of the 16th Annual Family Salsa Festival featuring the 9th Annual Miss Puerto Rico of Brevard County for the 12th and 13th Annual Brevard County Puerto Rican Day Parade of which has four to ten thousand participants per year representing United Third Bridge, Inc., in all community and public relations events, meetings and community relations.
Prior to relocating to Florida, Colon has worked with the music industry providing artist development for many local New York City artist and involved in many block parties, street concerts, artist interviews studio and show performance.
Colon has over fifteen years experience in community marketing. She has created a community relations campaigns for companies of all sizes from home based-business to Major Corporations like Citibank and H&R Block. H&R Block’s program later went on to a national program. She has also provided valuable assistance to numerous non-for-profit organizations like Davidson Community Center, New Era Veterans, United Caribbean Congress, www.gosmallbiz.com and others. Colon has helped structure over a thousand free community events all over New York City offering free tax seminars, networking and other free valuable services to residents of the five boroughs of New York. Before that, she was the community mortgage manager in the Bronx for Citibank and loan officer for several other real estate lenders.
