I also noticed that you started a discussion and are skeptical about networking in general. I believe that networking is an extremely important part of developing your career, and even if you don't see immediate results, you never know when the person you meet today can help you out--3 or 5 years down the road.

I hope you’re also able to find other smart people to network with on this site, as I have. Hope to meet you at the job fair.
