I am living in the Minneapolis/St Paul, MN area and seeking part-time employment in the Spanish speaking field. Prior to moving to MN in November of 2009, I was a Christian missionary for 10 years, 2 of which I spent working among Spanish speakers in Miami and 3 of which I lived in Argentina. Prior to that, I taught English in an elementary school in Ecuador for a year. I have been deeply involved in Spanish since 1989. I was an active member of the Spanish Honor Society in high school, then went on to get a bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Kentucky. In 1995, I took a summer class in Segovia Spain, and returned to Spain in the summer of 1996. In 1998, I taught full-time for a year in the Ciudad de Macara elementary school in El Placer de Toachi, Ecuador, creating my own curriculum and designing my own materials. As a missionary, I traveled extensively in Argentina, Ecuador and Chile. I have over 400 hours of simultaneous and consecutive interpretation experience, and have translated over 40 hymns, both from Spanish into English and from English into Spanish. In Argentina, I taught an English conversation course in a privately run institute, Praise English Institute, as well as an English conversation course in the corporate offices of PAI and Moño Azul, large fruit exporters in the province of Río Negro, Argentina.
