- My mother (RIP) was from Monterrey, Mexico and passed in Feb. 2005 and my father was born in the US in Iowa, but my grandparents were from Morelia, Michoacan. During my teenage years I was attending school in Monterrey, Mexico to learn the spanish language as well as the culture.
