I am a recent college graduate moving to New York in January '09. I
I am the eldest of five children, born to a teenage immigrant mother from Guayaquil, Ecuador, my mentors are Dolores Garay of Garay Consulting and my tia Terry J. Soto of About Marketing Solutions, Inc.
And I make a killer Seco de Pollo.
what is your current, past or ideal job title?
I have worked as a residential counselor at a level 12 group home, primarily working with boys 13-17. I have volunteered at Boys and Girl Club in Burbank, CA, Cambria Youth Athletic Association in Cambria, CA and The Women's Community Clinic in San Francisco, CA.
I am currently redirecting my focus from direct service to fundraising/grant writing/event planning. This past October I produced my first fund raiser. "That's Vagtastic!" was a vaudeville extravaganza feature local performance artists from the San Francisco area. The benefit was for The Women's Community Clinic, providing free sexual/reproductive health care clinic for women on site as well as outreach services. I was a volunteer at The Clinic as a Client Service Coordinator and where my passion for sexual and reproductive care/rights flourished.
I am looking for work in the New York area, focusing on Women, Latinos, Youth or LGBTQ communities.
