My name is Adalia Argüello-Gibson, I was born in South America, Paraguay. I first came to this country 20 years ago and I fell in love with a lot of things but specially the educational system. Even when my father gave me the opportunity to get my college schooling here, I decided not to put that financial burden on him so I went back to Paraguay and finished my studies in Computer Science, then I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Later, I got certifications in Product Management and in Quality Control Process (ISO 9001:2000).
I worked in the Administrative area for many different companies in my country including The Coca-Cola Company where I had the chance to get involved in the Marketing and Advertising, areas that caught my interest and later on I became Chief of Marketing for VOX Mobile Communications, where I worked for almost 7 years, until I decided to accomplish my dreamed goal of coming to the U.S. and continue studying. I also though of a better education for my now 12 year old son who moved here with me 4 years ago. My son Sebastian arrived here speaking just a few words in English, now he speaks English much better than me and without accent. I married a wonderful man, born in Flint, Michigan that has lived his whole life in Chicago, where I reside with him and my son.
I describe myself as a hard worker. During my time off, I love to travel and spend time with my family. I also enjoy going to the movies, listen to good music and explore new places, new experiences, and learn from the interaction with people, especially from different cultures.
