Hello everyone I recently became a certified PCT. I currently work as a patient access rep and am in the process of working as a CNA. not sure yet if I want to move on to nursing school until I have a bit more hands on experience with patients. Glad to be a part of this group.

Hello everyone just recently joined the NSHP, and I can see we have come a long way.  I have recently graduated with a Master's in Healthcare Administration concentration in Healthcare policy.  As I continue to grow professionally I am more interested in Medicare (innovation and Physician payment reform), so looking to connect with HHS, or CMS professionals who can guide me to a Fellowship opportunity.  Also seeking for a mentor within the field.

Hello I am new to NSHP but I'm glad I joined. I'm a new Registered Nurse, BSN, in Chicago. It's been difficult to find a job as a new grad. If anyone has any networking possibilities for Chicago I would apperciate it. Thank You! =)

Hola y saludos a todos! I work in the Healthcare IT industry, and as part of being a bilingual professional my company Nuesoft and I would like to be more involved in the Hispanic Healthcare community. I think this can be a great way to participate in Atlanta.

Dr. Colón, IMC is truly innovative!  It is wonderful that you are able to offer all of those specialized services to your patients. Our healthcare system is fragmented and difficult enough to maneuver when you are sufficiently insured and healthcare literate but it is nearly impossible for those who are not. I'd say that is the true definition of "patient-centered care"!

You can find me on LinkedIn at:

If I ever decide to relocate I'll take you up on your offer.

Melissa, do you want to relocate to Atlanta and work with us at International Medical Clinics? In any event, great to see you here! Mucho gusto! Are you on LinkedIn too?

Hi Mike,
I can't find the original invitation with the purpose of the mtg and the address.  Plz send again to me.

I am a physician operating a patient-centered multi-specialty community medical clinic in the Atlanta area providing patient access for everyone. Actually, International Medical Clinics (IMC) is a one-of-a-kind affordable medical center, speaking 14 languages, 11 M.D. Specialties, with the most outstanding customer service I have ever seen. In fact, this medical center is equally for lower income, middle income, upper middle income and affluent people. Our patients are American, Hispanic, Brazilian, Korean, Russian, African, Caribbean and from many other places.

Our medical center is the flip-side of almost all the clinics in the country because we provide healthcare for those who do not have medical insurance or only have a very high deductible health insurance plan (i.e. where they used to have a $250 deductible but now have a $5,000 or $10,000 deductible).

International Medical Clinics (IMC) is a fascinating model of delivery of healthcare in so many ways. Senator Johnny Isakson visited us with his Wash DC team. Former Mayor Shirley Franklin was very complimentary to what our center is achieving for the community.

I would like to see if you can meet with us for a brief meeting at our medical center.

With warmest regards,

Dr. Mel J. Colón, CEO

International Medical Clinics (IMC) has developed a new and uniquely innovative model of healthcare delivery to exclusively serve uninsured populations. This multi-physician specialty center effectively addresses the healthcare needs of the expanding multi-cultural uninsured community, one of America’s top ten national concerns. IMC accomplishes this mission by honoring and respecting cultural diversity, conducting ongoing focus groups to identify the needs and issues of different populations, providing substantive and skills-based healthcare education, and offering affordable medical fees.

¡Saludos! I'm a RN with a Masters in Public Administration. I am currently located in the Los Angeles area working in health policy. Growing up not only bilingual but bicultural, I am familiar with many of the health issues and obstacles Latinos face. I hope this group is still active because it would be great to connect.
