What is PR?

Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the flow of information between an organization and its publics.Public relations - often referred to as PR - gains an organization or individual exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct payment. Because public relations places exposure in credible third-party outlets, it offers a third-party legitimacy that advertising does not have.Common activities include speaking at conferences, working with the press, and employee communication.
PR can be used to build rapport with employees, customers, investors, voters, or the general public.Almost any organization that has a stake in how it is portrayed in the public arena employs some level of public relations.

Elliott,
I must agree with you. At times it seems that we loose sight of what it means to have "Pride" and seem to define ourselves by our sexuality. Though this site might seem casual as we are in our homes typing away while in our pajamas the purpose of this site is to have "PROFESSIONAL" contacts and seek "PROFESSIONAL" information. Therefore we should consider our image when we are communicating on these sites.

Good Day All,
I just had to write about "Pride"...Before I state this comment let me say that I am not a conservative by any means, but I am a Father & I am a Latino man who has fought hard to get where he is .....as hispanics let us not forget that we are still a minority in this country...so let us do the right thing, especially in our forum The NSHP....stay professional latinos...we can set examples and be proud of our achievements......But not with half naked Kitty cat photos of ourselves or tank top tee shirt shots of our muscles.(I have those too,...muscles I mean,& I don't need to expose them while networking) on a professional web forum...lets leave that for Match.com or Singles.net.....Not Here Not Now!!!!

Although I am employed, I went to the NY Job Fair event yesterday to network. Made some contacts and met some great people. Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather we are finally having (in NY/NJ at least).

Hi Elliot!
I know going to work today is kind of weird! People are out of town or at church or just relaxing, huh? I cut off the day early. Happy Easter weekend to you too.

Good Friday Morning All,
Today is an off day but yet I am in the office catching up on my weeks work.
This week was really trying, I was in Boston on Tuesday for a client event, Thursday I was in NYC for an award presentation, Today I am writing photo releases and finishing up on activity reports and forcasts for next month. The life of a PR professional is the life we choose....The more you put into it...the more rewards you see out of it!!
