Hispanic professional society & diversity job fairs at NSHP.org

Hi everybody,

I am new to this group and I would like to know if anyone here can share their experiences professionally with FB and LI.

Which one do you spend the most time on? Which site do you feel enhances your professional life and keeps you more connected? Which one do you use on an every day basis?

Thanks in advance!

Len

Plaxo is a good starter for networking, once you make contacts and friends your account will be banned and you'll get dissapointed, Facebook is a good way to meet your clients or vendors more intimately.

Hey, I have not used Linkedin, I guess you can try both and see which one you like. You'll be surprised how many friends you will find on those websites. From what I've heard, Linkedin is a little more for professionals. But don't quote me on that

Hello,

I am also new to this group, but have been a member of LinkendIn and Facebook for over a year. Personally, I have found that LinkedIn is a good networking tool for my professional life. Facebook is a more informal, socially-oriented networking site. I have used LinkedIn with success for business purposes; and Facebook to stay in touch and socialize with friends, family members and present and former colleagues.

Best regards,

Patricia

Hey everybody,

Thanks for all of your feedback! I use FB mostly for socializing with my friends & family, while LI is what I am on every day for work...

Both Linkedin and Facebook are equally useful. Linkedin is considered a more formal Professional site; however if well used Facebook can be a "warmer" site for conducting business.

Just a perpective; Jose G Silva in linkedin http://www.linkedin.com/in/josegsilva

Since I'm currently unemployed, I spend more time on LinkedIn trying to build career connections. I've been able to obtain recommendations that give prospective eimployers an idea of the type of employee that I am. My use of Facebook is a way of keeping in touch with family and friends.

I use both though I think Facebook is more effective and more friendly way of spreading the word about my community media business and my photography. I have been finding Twitter to be effective too.
