The DFW Hispanic Networking Group on National Society of Hispanic Professionals.org has an overall goal of facilitating meaningful networking opportunities for those with business interests within our Latino community. Dallas / Fort Worth Latino and non Latino's with vested interests in our communities are always welcome to attend our periodic events. DFW strives to provide diverse, dynamic venues conducive for encouraging meaningful connections, sustaining a solid membership base, and enticing new participants. Our DFW networking events are designed for flexibility as attendees may arrive straight from work to relish drink specials, or later to enjoy dinner while networking leisurely with friends, and fellow professionals.
All are invited to join us for future evenings of fun, fellowship and cultivating relationships which may prove essential in both professional and personal realms. Whether it's finding prospective clients, gaining exposure for your business, exploring career options or just making new connections in our community, networking is something from which all may benefit. The old adage, ”it is not what you know, but who you know” takes on more meaning when the economy is on a downturn, as a personal referral will get YOU or YOUR BUSINESS to the front of the line!
We welcome all to look into joining NSHP “DFW” Chapter as a free tool to facilitate networking opportunities with DFW Latino professionals. By setting up an NSHP profile and joining "DFW" group, one has a tool for facilitating interactions through a secure venue with contacts throughout Dallas/Fort Worth without having to "FRIEND" strangers on Facebook. Finding fellow professionals is facilitated because even though one may not have a business card or even a complete name one may recognize a face that one may have had the pleasure of meeting at a previous event.
Please stay tuned for listings and invites for future activities where our "DFW" member's and area professional groups and associations may be networking!
DFW Hispanic Networking Group "On the Front Porch" NETWORKING EVENT SUMMARY:
DFW networking aficionados gathered on the front porch of the original La Calle Doce in Oak Cliff. Like in the "good ol’ days," neighborly interactions in the warm, breezy Texas fresh air, facilitated opportunities for Dallas professionals get to know one another with the intention of forging business connections based on trust and respect. Cold drinks, laughter and live guitar music created a cheerful backdrop reminiscent of those simpler times, especially since friends of friends, spouses and coworkers regardless of their business title were welcomed to the mix of professionals.
After initial mingling and networking on the front porch, dinner was served in the secluded courtyard allowing conversation without distractions at this very popular restaurant. There was an opportunity for attendees to get everyone's undivided attention to introduce themselves and their business or industry The award winning “Ceviche,” shrimp and seafood dishes seemed to be among the meals of choice for many of the attendees. After dinner, many chose to continue their networking opportunities over night caps and/or dessert. A strolling guitarist serenaded those who were lucky enough to stay a little later! Overall, connections and potential business opportunities in our Hispanic communities as well as involvement with Latino culture initiatives were explored.

Comment by Dr. Daniel F. Flores on July 27, 2012 at 2:19pm Hello, DFW Group!
I want to share a story about something really exciting happening in the Diamond Hill neighborhood of Fort Worth. The Dream & Go Center has a new campus located at 3005 Oscar Avenue. We moved in last Spring and began feeding elementary kids (up to 150 afterschool!) and providing needed services such as tutoring, food distribution, Girl Scouts, and adult ESL instruction. Next month we will provide new school uniforms (polo shirts) to every student at Diamond Hill Elementary. This faith-based program relies on corporate and private sponsorship to cover operations expense. Please read the amazing story as written by one of our corporate donors.Texas Methodist Foundation Annual Report. If you would like to volunteer or offer in-kind or financial support, please message me.
