
The award presentation is scheduled for November 10th, 2009 during our Diversity Golf Tournament, Networker and Expo. The event location will be COWBOYS Golf Club located at 1600 Fairway Drive, Grapevine Texas 76051 and will be a morning golf event with the expo ending at approximately 4PM. The Award Winners are as follows: “Small Business Diversity Advocate” Award
Mr. Eddie Reyes, HUB Coordinator for University of North Texas.
Mr. Eddie Reyes won the award due to his dedication, guidance, and successful accomplishments with HUB certified companies winning diversity business. DBA (Diversity Business Alliance) regards Mr. Reyes as the diversity tipping point person that will bring minority and woman-owned companies and diversity business opportunities together. Eddie is the Maven (HUB and Diversity expert), the connector (connects HUB and HUB procurement) and the salesman (selling HUB and diversity 24/7) which are the known key elements of a tipping point maker. Eddie Reyes is well known in the community and deserves the award for his outstanding service.
“Diversity in Action” Award
Mr. Dennis English, President of Prime Pest Management
Mr. English is the winner of the “Diversity in Action” award for his successful diversity business plan that has won his company large diversity contracts. Just recently Mr. English’s company was awarded the University of North Texas pest control contract. Prime Pest has won contracts with DFW Airport and other large government agencies making Prime Pest a diversity success. Dennis English is known to extend his helping hand to other diversity companies that are looking at growing their business through diversity business opportunities. Dennis English is the winner because he makes diversity opportunities happen.
“Diversity Innovative Advocate” Award
Mr. Jose Lopez, President of the Carrollton Farmers Branch Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Mr. Lopez and his chamber won this award because of their innovative use of the Internet to open diversity economic opportunities for his members and interaction connection to their community projects. Mr. Jose Lopez has built an Internet based infrastructure where members can communicate, work together at diversity opportunities and even work real time projects with local schools to help keep Hispanic students in school and graduate. Jose Lopez is the winner because he knows that the Internet can make a difference in promoting diversity and community involvement.
