Hello everyone. I'm chairing the inaugural St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's "Tributo a la Vida" gala (www.stjude.org/tributogala) in DC this June. An amazing institution making an incredible difference in people's lives. We aim to attract the Latino community to support this effort - from sponsorships, to silent auction items, to ticket sales, to just spreading the word.

Hola todos! My name is Karla Parra and I was born and raised in Mexico. My mother is from the U.S., so I have lived here since 2003, going to college in NY and France, and recently working in Communications at a global company in CT and London. I am currently searching the opportunity to work and pursue my Master's degree in D.C. and am very glad to have found this networking site, which I hope will help me navigate this new professional endeavor.

I would really like to join a government agency or NGO in D.C. and be able to utilize my Hispanic background and language skills to the benefit of the Latino community in the U.S. If anyone has any recommendations as to organizations to take a look at or any other advice on navigating the job world in D.C., I'd greatly appreciate it! I'll be in D.C. for the job fair on Sept 24 and hope to meet many of you there!

Hi Everyone - I've been a member of the NSHP network all of about 30 minutes or so!

I was born in NY, grew up in NJ and went to school in Boston and Wisconsin before settling down in the DC area.

I was a partner at a DC law firm until I left to start my own law firm last year. My practice areas focus on employment and employee benefits consulting and litigation, I also consult small and minority-owned businesses.

I'm glad to be a part of this community!

Greetings to all. My name is LD Herrera. My company provides IT & Internet Marketing solutions for small businesses & non-profit organizations locally and across the country. Born in Austin, I grew up in Omaha, went to school in Pittsburgh (Carnegie Mellon U) and relocated to DC 3 years ago.

I'm always looking for new clients. So, if your business buys hardware & software directly for Dell, HP, or other large providers, please consider switching to Expert Approach. We can get you the same product at the same or lower prices and you will be supporting a military family's small business and not a large corporation.

Hello everyone.
My name is Carlos De Souza and I have been a member of the NSHP network for several months but had yet to introduce myself. I was born and raised early on in Caracas, Venezuela. My family moved to Miami where I spent most of my school years. I have lived in Venezuela, Mexico, East and West Coast of the US, spent a little time in Europe and I have been in Virginia for the last nine years.

I have always worked in the restaurant/bar industry. I am currently the Food & Beverage Director at the National Gallery of Art in DC for Restaurant Associates. I have worked worked for mom & pop restaurants, mid to large size corporate chains and even co-owned a cafe in Miami.
I am interested in getting more involved in the area with other Hispanic professionals.
