A friend of mine just told me she's moving to Costa Rica since her business in ATL is not going as she expected, her house is not selling and has very little time to spend with her little one.
"I feel like a failure, I think that going to Costa Rica is the easy way out."
I couldn't stop laughing when she said that.
Guess why.
I started laughing because I'm very sarcastic. No, I really am.
And also because she just hadn't realized that staying in ATL would REALLY be the easy way out. It's easier just to sit and wait for things to change.
My friend is getting her butt in gear and making the changes her life needs. Moving to a different country with a child doesn't sound easy at all! She's trying something different somewhere else.
I told her that Costa Rica will be blessed to have someone as talented, beautiful and hard working as her. And that is great not having to wait for retirement to move to beautiful place with great weather and fantastic beaches.
When I told her that, she looked up and smiled. One of those really genuine smiles you only allow to yourself.
She gave me a hug and said "Gracias".
I gave her a big kiss and said... "No. Thank you for the lesson."
