Hello Susan. What a beautiful page full of latinos! :) Nicely done. I just joined today and I'm looking forward to making it a part of my daily routine to check in here. I've been in the insurance industry for well over ten years and I love it. I'm looking to gain experience outside of my current employer for a change of pace, since I've been with only one company for all of my adult life. Change can only be good.

Hola Susan and welcome to the NSHP. You can always google the industry associations like aia.org or like california-architects.com. If all else fails you can check with Kelly Services temp agency. Good luck!

Hello there! I moved to California a couple of months ago, and now I'm trying to start working as a contractor. I am an architect / Interior Designer specialized in developing architectural presentations in 3D Max.
Any ideas on How can I start a network of professionals would be most helpful.
Thanks a lot!
Susan

Hola Edgar. One idea you can try in finding work is to call multimedia companies and tell them you'll come on board for 3-4 weeks for free. If after that they see that you're a good fit, then they may hire you. You can work for them say about four hours a day. This could also generate leads for you with the people within those companies who may know of other similar companies within that industry who may be hiring. If you have the multimedia software, you could also do volunteer work for organizations or churches. Your only stipulation with them could be to ask them to let you put your name on the finished piece and that maybe they can get the word out for you that you are looking for employment in this field. Just a few thoughts. Good luck!

Hey everyone I just wanted to promote myself. Like many of you I am searching for work and trying things outside the box.

I would describe myself as a Multimedia Designer with audio/video editing and production being my strength. I also web design and graphics and print design.

A link to my portfolio can be found here. http://crookedhalo.org/

You can also find me here. http://vimeo.com/crookedhalo

I am based out of the San Jose, CA area. If you know of any work, or have any needs in my fields that I can be of use let me know.

Thanks.
