Hispanics have felt reluctant of pursuing STEM careers because they feel they don't fit in the programs offered at the university level. And those Hispanic students that do enroll tend to have a high drop-out rate. But according to Mark B. Rosenberg, president of Florida International University (FIU), the problem begins at the high school level, wherein there are not sufficient Hispanic teachers of STEM careers.
