Deadline February 22, 2011. The Writer/Editor of New Pest 
Response Guidelines and Technical Manuals for Plant Protection 
and Quarantine (PPQ)-Emergency and Domestic Programs (EDP) 
serves as a technical specialist and, using writing, editing, 
and a technical knowledge of pest management and entomology, 
writes and edits documents that articulate, interpret, and 
explain complex, potentially controversial Agency policies, 
programs and research findings.

ensure that all projects are released from the agency with 
flawless grammar, spelling, punctuation, legal copy, trademarks,

seeks freelance writers to interview small business owners and 
owners of medical practices, extracting interesting information 
and processing information in order to write polished profiles 
that could run in Fortune or Inc. Must understand how to turn 
a small businessperson's story into an engaging narrative that 
other small businesspeople can learn from. Pays $250 for short 
profiles (500 -- 1,000 words), $500 for long profiles (1,500-
2,000 words). Payment within 7 days of acceptance. Writer can
be located anywhere in North America. Regular, recurring 
assignments available to standouts.

Junior Baseball, the magazine that has connected families to 
the game for more than 15 years, has a special freelance 
opportunity for a couple of writers who can dedicate a chunk 
of time this Winter in the Grapefruit or Cactus leagues at
MLB spring training. You will be in either Florida or Arizona 
while MLB teams prepare for the season ahead. You will 
interview players to develop a series of "How To" / "Top Tips 
from the Pros" articles for our younger readers, ages 7-17. 
Your credentials should show an ability to write for teens, 
tweens and youngsters; knowledge and understanding of the 
game of baseball; and solid writing skills. Lodging, travel 
and food is your responsibility. Payment is flat fee per 
article. Ideal for sports journalist already planning to 
cover Spring Training. Only submissions with resume, clips,
and cover letter detailing your preferred location, 
compensation requirements and availability between when 
pitchers & catchers report to Opening Day, will be considered.
