NPR reports:

The economic downturn is taking a disproportionate toll on men, especially in industries of construction and manufacturing, as well as African-Americans and Latinos. But, overall, women have not been as affected. In fact, women may surpass men in the workforce. Two experts take a look at the recent unemployment numbers.

I suspect, these changes will be reversed in the next boom when construction and manufacturing ramp up again, but...

Is it good news that the percentage of women employed in the work force may surpass men? Does it matter? Can the men take care of the family at home while the women work?
