I've bee hearing about the Amero since the mid 90's when I lived in London; and the EU was considering the Euro. NAFTA had just taken off and the word was (unofficially) that eventually there would be only single currencies in Europe and America. (To me America is not a country but a continent- feel free to comment, disagree or concur.)
Anyway the Amero became some shifty, obscure topic as it would seem that the money owners had it all planned many decades in advance.
Personally I think it will be implemented within the next 3-5 years despite of the opposition. And yes, that would mean that your US Dollars, Canadian Dollars and Mexican Pesos will disappear or be converted to its Amero equivalent.
BTW, did you know that the UK pushed for the Euro big time but kept the Pound? Makes you wonder….
