This program will focus on recent federal and state legislative developments and measures that SHRM members can take to become engaged in the legislative and regulatory process to ensure that the “Voice of the HR professional” is heard.
We will touch on the public policy implications of the newly passed health care reform legislation* and discuss federal developments such as the hotly contested Employee Free Choice Act, ADA proposed regulations, employment discrimination developments and leave legislation. At the state level we will address developments such as leave rights, nursing mothers’ rights, electronic monitoring, labor laws and more.
This workshop is for business leaders, managers and supervisors to keep abreast of potential HR issues in the workplace.
