I attended today's event, just like Chris Ramos comment, I too left the event with pamphlets, pens, a cup and a lot of hope. Even though I brought a lot of copies of my résumé, I was quickly told to just go on their website and upload my resume. I could have done this from home, next time just post the websites here and we will upload our resume, instead of wasting time and car fare to be rushed at the tables. Everyone was hospitable with the exception of the lady in the Hair Club table. She was rude and abrupt and I did not appreciate her attitude, the Latin girl was much more courteous, she should have represented Hair club by herself, she was very sweet and informative, the other one said they had no place for me, only sales people, like really? I will never endorse Hair Club to anyone!

Well, I have attended the past three job fairs in New York City and I got home with a bag full of pamphlets, brochures, lists of jobs, business cards, pens, coffe cups, badges and most of all empty handed at the same time. Why? The following day I would go over the careers' sections of these companies that hand you all their corporate image's stationary and applied for the most suitable jobs and guess what? during those 3 years NONE of these companies called me up not even for a courtesy interview. I have to say that companies are just using these events to advertise their products and give us a sip of hospitality, diplomacy and false expectations.

So, this year I decided to take a break and not spend the U$13.50 in busfare and instead of that keep actively looking for a job using other more useful means. I appreciate Ricardo's effort and his team. Thanks anyway. They really try. But...

It would be nice to have reps from EDUCATION providers/organizations,and also agencies which cater to persons with disabilities such as OPWDD. International organizations would be good too!
